Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel

We are truly pleased with this recent kitchen and main-level remodel! Clients in Argyle were ready to open up their 100-year-old farmhouse. To make their dream a reality, the project kicked-off with our Remodeling Consultant, Rachael, who worked closely with the homeowners. Together they designed a renovation that brightens the space, incorporates a better work triangle, maximizes the country views, and maintains the classic Farmhouse Style and country charm.

The kitchen itself...WOW! What an incredible before and after. Before, the kitchen had dark wooden ceilings, little to no lighting, and minimal prep space. A wall separated it from the dining room, compartmentalizing the floor plan into separate, cramped spaces.

And AFTER... What a dramatic difference. What a transformation! Besides reframing the floor structure and removing the wall, we were able to remove the two floor-to-ceiling support columns, so the new open-concept space is truly OPEN. The oh-so-improved AFTER includes a beautiful prep island that provides some much-needed storage space, along with a breakfast bar and a more “formal” dining area. They can’t wait to entertain!

Can we just say...LOOK at the kitchen now! The bright white cabinets and quartz countertop simply energize the space. A new under-counter sink’s faucet combo pairs perfectly with vintage-look drawer handles. And the island cabinet adds a pop of welcome color... Throughout the space are new task, ambient, and accent lights. And letting in all the natural light—and the country views—are new Provia Endure vinyl windows. No more tired and drafty windows. What a difference!

There are so many fine highlights to this wow-ing remodel project. Some are clearly visible, some not so much! We began the construction work by insulating the back side of the house, from the dining room through the kitchen. We applied spray foam inside the foundation and under the floor, as well as within the kitchen walls and ceiling. And we upgraded the electrical panel, a “must have” item.

Another must have…to level the uneven floors throughout. The new luxury vinyl plank flooring is durable, easy to clean, and…level! No more marble rolling contests here! Last but not least, new wooden trim and doors throughout the entire main floor tie it all together.
