Ed & Laura Bartell live in a very unique and beautiful house in a gorgeous setting just outside of Mt. Horeb. Unfortunately, there was one thing in their house that wasn’t so beautiful anymore – their master bathroom. It was a space that they had just sort of let go and Laura didn’t even use anymore, as she’d rather go downstairs an…d use their other bathroom! Finally, they decided it was time to upgrade their bathroom into the eye-catching and functional space they always dreamed of!
This is where Jenn and Nancy, our Remodeling Consultants came into play – to assist the Bartell’s in coming up with a new design for their bathroom. The highest priority was incorporating a bigger, custom tile shower. To do this, we just expanded the length of the shower in it’s current location, but opened it up at the top to allow natural light in from the window. Ed and Laura were also very interested in maintaining the natural, rustic look that is showcased throughout the rest of their house. We were able to accomplish this with a tumbled stone shower base, which was complimented by beige wall tiles and a warm, chocolate-colored bath floor. A glass mosaic deco border in the shower finished off the entire look.
In the rest of the bathroom, we left the toilet in the same location, but moved the vanity to the opposite wall, to allow for the shower expansion and also leave some space available to add future storage, if needed. A furniture style vanity with granite top, vessel sink and oil-rubbed bronze fixtures completed the bathroom wonderfully!
While our guys did an excellent job as usual, we have to give credit to Ed, who helped out with his project as much as possible!
