Diane Blank, Madison, WI - Kitchen Remodel and Bathroom Update We recently completed a kitchen and bath remodel for Diane Blank in Madison. After years of thinking about this project and looking for ideas, Diane decided it was time to just get it done. She contacted our company after learning more about us at the NARI home show. At that time, she knew exactly what she wanted done in her bathroom, but the kitchen was a little up in the air yet. She knew the space needed a major overhaul, including replacing her vinyl flooring, which was already starting to peel up in some areas. The main question, however, was whether to completely get rid of a wall dividing her kitchen and front room, or just have a pass through window. After looking at several designs and having many discussions as to what would make the most sense, we decided to eliminate the majority of the wall and turn it into a peninsula with seating on one side. Next came the fun decisions – Diane had already selected most of her new stainless steel appliances, so we needed to design the cabinets around them, which was a breeze! The look of the cabinets was a tough decision, but she ended up selecting maple as the wood species with an autumn haze finish. This accented her new hard wood floor perfectly – which she added to the kitchen to match what was in the rest of her dining and front room. Starron solid surface countertops and a custom tile backsplash finished the project perfectly. Diane also had a lime green solid surface top installed in her bathroom, which was accentuated with a small border of glass tiles around the backsplash, as well as in her new whirlpool tub/shower combo! |
